Health service data standards and dystems

Information managers and others involved in reporting data from Victorian public and private health services can stay up to date with the latest reporting guidelines and news, thanks to VAHI’s Health Services Data team’s Health data standards and systems (HDSS) communications channels.

The HDSS website (www.health.vic.gov.au/data-reporting/communications) includes links to a comprehensive list of reporting guidelines and standards, covering everything from COVID-19 reporting to Nursing and Midwifery Workforce data collection.

The links are updated as guidelines and requirements change, and the page includes reporting guides, frequently asked questions and video tutorials on specific topics.

HDSS Bulletins provide advice on the VAED, AIMS, VEMD, ESIS, VINAH, and NADC data collections and on related data quality issues.

The Bulletin also covers a selection of answers to questions submitted to the HDSS Helpdesk, notifications of revisions and amendments and more. The website also features an archive of all copies of the HDSS Bulletin going back to 2019.

The latest bulletin went out last week, including details of new public health services, information on the availability of WorkSafe statement information, and a range of VAED, VEMD and VINAH updates.

Make sure you are always up to date by subscribing to the HDSS mailing list. Subscribers receive email notification of the Bulletin releases

You can subscribe to the HDSS mailing list by visiting www.health.vic.gov.au/data-reporting/subscribe

And while the Health Services Data team is always proactive in ensuring public health services have the information they need via the website and Bulletin, the HDSS helpdesk is also always available to answer specific questions.

For information and advice about standards, specifications and data quality processes for the VAED, VEMD, ESIS, AIMS, VINAH and NADC, you can contact the HDSS Helpdesk at [email protected]
