The Victorian ICD Coding Committee (VICC) is chaired by a health information manager of the department. It is made up of qualified clinical coders selected by the department. Meetings are held monthly and special interest groups can designate an appropriate committee member as their point of contact with the committee. The Victorian ICD Coding Committee was formed in 1979 as an official committee of the Victorian Health Authority, in association with the Victorian Medical Record Association.

Coding queries

Victorian coders can submit coding queries via the online query form. See Guidelines for writing a coding query to assist you in writing a coding query.

Queries are processed by the committee. A response is then sent to the enquirer and is published in the Victorian ICD coding committee queries database quarterly. For more details see VICC query process flow chart  and VICC query process glossary of terms.
