The Royal Melbourne Hospital is a tertiary, teaching referral hospital providing specialist and general medical and surgical services, including cardiac, neuroscience and oncology, as well providing a major trauma service and Victorian Infectious Diseases Service. The hospital also cares and treats many people from regional and rural Victoria as well as interstate through a number of specialist services.

The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital is a world leader in eye, ear, nose and throat services and undertakes all of the State’s public general eye surgery, up to 90 per cent of special eye surgery, and almost all of Victoria’s public cochlear implant surgery.
