List of patients registered by a public hospital to receive treatment (e.g. elective surgery).
Waiting times are defined differently, depending on the treatment.
Waiting time in the emergency department refer to the time in minutes between when a patient presented at the emergency department and when they were first seen by a nurse or a doctor for treatment.
For patients waiting for an elective surgery, it is the period between the date the patient was listed for the elective surgery procedure and the date they were admitted to hospital for surgery (excluding not-ready-for-surgery days).
For dental care clients, waiting time is the time between the date the client was placed on the waiting list, and the date of the first appointment offered by the service.
